The Pomeroy Family Association

The PFA coodinates worldwide research into the family history of everyone bearing the surname Pomeroy, Pomroy, Pomery, Pummery, Pumroy, de la Pomerai, Pommeroy, Pummeroy and de Pomeroy.

The Reconstruction Project

This long-term genealogical project aims to reconstruct the family connections of every tree worldwide and is backed by a global DNA testing programme. We have so far been able to identify the tree of more than 95% of name-bearers in the UK and have traced almost all of those 50-odd trees back beyond 1837, the year national BMD registration began in England & Wales.

Ours is probably the most developed surname reconstruction project in the world, certainly for any surname of our frequency in the UK population, and our complimentary DNA project is undoubtedly the most integrated within a surname reconstruction project of any in the world.

We are happy to help any researcher to unravel their Pomeroy forebears. Emails to the project administrator should include as much detail as possible about their Pomeroy line. We generally reply to enquiries within a few days.
